Fortunately, I did not have to use this kit yet, so I cannot comment on its functionality. It seems to be fairly solidly made. The company which makes it – Tooluxe – is an about 50-people trading company in China, which evidently does not produce these tools itself but only exports them from China. They sell a variety of simple tools which get variable reviews on Amazon. It is not clear who actually makes the tools for them. In my search on the internet I’ve seen either very similar looking tools, or tools in the same box under 2-3 different names. My first observation when I received the kit was that it comes without any manual whatsoever – not even a picture explaining how to patch a hole in the tire. There is no contact information for the manufacturer, no telephone, no web site, and of course no warranty. The case which it comes in is way too big for its contents – 11.5 by 8 by 2.5 inches. It is just unreasonably huge to keep it in the car, and one could probably fit 5 such kits into this box. It comes with a bunch of 4″ strings, but the case would accommodate 8″ strings as well (and you can find kits for trucks with 8″ strings sold in evidently the same box). It comes with two allen wrenches, but no spare needles. The handle is made of hollow metal tube. I am not sure why it was called “professional grade” by the seller – even though it is not built of cheap plastic, it does not quite feel like a tool kit for tire shops either, and Tooluxe itself calls it just “35 piece tire repair kit”.

This is by far the best type of auto plug kit available. Short of getting your tire patched from the inside this is the best you can do if you get a nail in your tire in a parking lot somewhere.
I’ve never had one of the beefy jerky like plugs leak. One word of caution is that the lube in the black container liquefies and will leak if left in a hot car. Put the container in a zip lock bag and lay the kit flat or you can just take it out (you don’t really need to use it).
P.S. if you are going to repair the tire in a parking lot don’t forget a pump of some type!
